Multi-talented musician coming to Edwardsville
A singer/songwriter, composer and bassist will be in Edwardsville later this summer.
Originally from Gloucester in England, Janet Evra is now based in St. Louis. She mixes latin jazz, samba, and traditional bossa nova with modern influences and then adds her own twist to create a unique sound that is both lush and crisp.
Evra sings in French, Spanish, Portuguese, and English, and has performed across Europe and the United States. She performed in Romania at The Deva Jazz Festival in 2019, and at shows in Switzerland and Sweden. In the United States, she has appeared at high-end jazz clubs such as Chicago's Uncommon Ground; Rudy's Jazz Room, located in Nashville; and Cincinnati's Caffe Vivace.
Janet Evra is an Artist in Residence for 2019-2020 at St. Louis's Kranzberg Arts Foundation (KAF), and is a regular performer at such St. Louis venues as the Old Rock House, Evangeline's, The National Blues Museum, The .ZACK Theater, and The Sheldon. She also performs every year at the Edwardsville Art Fair and the St. Louis Art Fair.
A review in the “Riverfront Times” says:
Evra will be at the Wildey Theatre on August 14, at 7.30 pm. This performance has been rescheduled from an earlier date, and the theater will honor tickets from that show. Brochure printing can be used to create informative programs for this type of event.
