Major local festival reaches quarter-century
Volunteers and event managers have announced that the annual Route 66 Festival in Edwardsville is approaching once again. This year’s festival is extra special as it marks the 25th annual hosting of the event.
As always, the event will feature classic cars, food, and family-friendly fun. Guests can also expect a slew of activities, including dozens of vendors and hundreds of classic cars to look at, have pictures taken with, and explore. Finally, the event will, as always, explore the history of the classic Route 66, otherwise known as the “mother road.” Event attendees will have the chance to learn more about their local history and what makes Route 66 so iconic.
This event needs volunteers to be successful. Volunteers and sponsors can qualify for a wide array of marketing bonuses, including the ability to appear on banner printing or hand out promotional products. For more information on how to serve as a volunteer or sponsor, interested individuals and businesses are encouraged to visit the event website.
This event is being held on Saturday, June 10. Festivities – including the 10k Run/Walk – start at 8:00 am. The final part of the event ends at 11:00 pm, making this a true all-day event. While there is no cost to attend, event attendees are encouraged to bring their money for food and items from vendors.
