What's Happening in Edwardsville, IL…

Local museum to come to its senses

The Edwardsville Children's Museum is offering a “My Senses Camp” next month.

According to event descriptions at the Edwardsville website and Facebook page, the camp – meant for children ages three to six and their caregivers – is designed to help young kids better explore their senses and the world around them. It will also give kids a chance to bond with their families in an outside environment, allowing them to escape screentime and spend time in a new environment.

According to Edwardsville Children’s Museum officials, this five-day camp will provide children with an immersive experience that will explore all five of their senses, with a different sense being reviewed each day. Kids will have a chance to hear stories, explore the museum, and get a better understanding of how their senses work.

While at the event, children and caregivers will also have the opportunity to explore the museum, pick up promotional products to do with its programs, and potentially purchase a membership.

The camp takes place from June 10 to 14, and runs from 10:00 am to 11:00 am every day. Prices are $50 for Edwardsville Children’s Museum members and $60 for non-members. Discounted prices are available for families on WIC.

The Edwardsville Children's Museum is located at 722 Holyoake Road. Interested individuals are encouraged to check out the museum website for more information on additional summer camp offerings.
