Families invited to jingle bell hunt

The Heartlands Conservancy Jingle Hike Challenge is back for another year, offering its unique race scavenger hunt.

The event will give participants the chance to visit 12 parks around the Metro East area, including Edwardsville. The goal will be for participants to find a picture of a tree with a jingle bell tied around it, then take a picture and submit it.

For every picture submitted, participants can be entered for a prize. If participants can get at least six pictures, they will get a chance at the grand prize, which will be announced at a later date.

Registration for the event is open now. Participants can start to get pictures on November 24 and will have until January 1 to make all of their submissions, so that can choose days within that period to suit their schedule. Race organizers say that this gives participants the chance to make a family celebration of the race, allowing them to explore all the parks that Metro East has to offer.

Bonus prizes are being awarded to individuals who can correctly identify the trees on which the bells are being hung.

Individuals interested in the race can sign up at the Heartlands Conservancy website. Tickets are $25 for each family. Events like this often use flyer printing to help with promotion and let people in the area know what is happening.
