Edwardsville luncheon to serve those who served
The Madison County Veterans’ Assistance Committee (VAC) has cordially invited area vets to attend a luncheon that will serve as an introduction to what’s on offer for them in their local community.
The Edwardsville event will be held at the On the Hill Golf Course and Lounge, and it will welcome former military members as well as their families, widows/widowers, friends, and caregivers. First responders and representatives from area social service agencies will also be in attendance.
The function will open with a mixer where the guests can meet and mingle, and after this, lunch will be served. Everyone is asked to eat their meals on site, and an ice cream dessert will be on offer courtesy of the Veteran Small Owned Business group. Representatives of the area's VAC will be on hand to answer questions and book appointments for anyone who needs one, and the goal is for everyone to walk away with a better knowledge of the assistance available to them.
Community outreach events give both government funded and charitable groups an opportunity to get their message out to those who may benefit. A brochure printing company will be able to supply a variety of educational materials for many types of functions.
