Edwardsville club plans fundraiser

The Junior Service Club, a non-profit organization serving Edwardsville and Glen Carbon, is planning a fundraiser. According to a November 2, 2015 news item, the club hold special events every other year, and this is its third pub crawl. The theme of club activities throughout the year has been superheroes, so this is a Superhero Pub Crawl.

According to Katie Wigton, who represents the club, the crawl will go to various venues during the evening. Tickets for the event are $35, and include a bottle koozie, a t-shirt, and a superhero accessory as well as a shuttle bus service throughout the evening. The shuttles will take attendees from place to place throughout Edwardsville, beginning with a shuttle that leaves the Social Gastropub at 6. 15 p.m. The last shuttle of the night will return to the pub at midnight.

The money raised at the crawl will go to help over 35 community organizations supported by the Junior Service Club. The superhero theme was chosen this year because of the heroic efforts of club members to help local organizations.

The pub crawl, which is one of the club's biggest fundraisers, will take place November 14. Tickets may be purchased online, or at the Social Gastropub the day of the crawl, from 5-6 p.m.

Event organizers might like to create colorful banners to hang over the doors of the participating pubs, to add to the fun.
