What's Happening in Edwardsville, IL…

Classic rock on its way to Edwardsville

The Wildey Theatre in Edwardsville is bringing classic rock to its stage during May.

Jonathan Edwards opened the month, bringing classic rock to the audience performing hits like ‘Honky Tonk Stardust Cowboy’. Fans who missed Edwards' show have more opportunities to enjoy rock, however.

On May 13, the Prince tribute band Chase & Ovation will give two shows, one at 3:00 pm and the second that evening at 8:00 pm. The band is the only one Prince approved before his death in 2016. The band members are from Prince's hometown of Minneapolis, and some of the musicians played with the iconic pop star. The appearance of this band is a rescheduled performance, and patrons who have tickets for the previous show will be admitted.

On May 19, at 8:00 pm, it is Rick Derringer's turn to appear as part of his ‘Storytelling: Alive & Well Tour’. The band will sing classic hits like ‘Hang on Sloopy’ and ‘Still Alive & Well’.

The last performer to appear in May will be Rik Emmett & RESolution9, who are slated to appear on May 21 at 8:00 pm. Emmett was originally a member of the band Triumph. Information about the bands and tickets can be found on the theater's website.

Events like this can be giving a helping hand if organizers work with a poster printing company, which can create posters or placards for each performance.
