What's Happening in Crystal Lake, IL…

Still time to enjoy a concert in the park this summer

The Crystal Lake Park District is once again presenting its Concerts in the Park evenings at Main Beach on Lakeshore Drive. Although there have already been several performances, there are many more evenings of music still to come.

Attendees are welcome to bring a picnic of their own, or food and drinks from the beach's concession stand. Performers are from throughout the region, the concerts last from an hour to 90 minutes, and admission is free. Parking is available at South Elementary, on the grass opposite Lakeside Legacy, or in the parking lot at Main Beach.

The upcoming concerts see Johnny Russler & the Beach Bum Band appear on Tuesday, July 10, followed on July 17 by Rosie and the Rivets, who play oldies from the 1950s and 1960s. July 24 brings a performance by 24 R-Gang, who play R&B and Motown, and on July 31 the Crystal Lake Community Band takes the stage. This is a rescheduled concert, postponed from the original June 5 date.

Top 40 hits are next up on August 7, courtesy of the Feel Good Party Band, and August 14 brings Billy Croft and the 5 Alarm Band, rescheduled from June 19. The final concert of the season is August 21, when 1976 will appear, bringing classic rock with them. They too have been rescheduled and were first slated to appear June 26.

Organizers of this type of event often use poster printing to advertise the occasion.
