New downtown wine tasting in Crystal Lake

The inaugural Crystal Lake Downtown Shop and Sip will be held next month.

The shopping and wine tasting event will be presented by Downtown Crystal Lake (DTCL), a non-profit organization that preserves the historic character of the downtown core and works to improve the district by promoting economic growth, sustainability, and an elevated quality of life for the entire community.

The organization was created in 1996 and each year, as part of its mandate, hosts a variety of special events and festivals.

The first ever Shop and Sip will involve 15 Crystal Lake retail stores that will offer shopping discounts, snacks, and wine tastings. Shoppers can enjoy five 3oz sips of wine or mocktails while listening to live music throughout the downtown.

Participating stores will include a boutique, jewellery shop, kitchen supply shop, a wine shop, hair and wellness salon, a plant shop, and home decor.

The event starts with check-in at a DTCL tent at the Brink Street Market where tasting tickets and an event brochure will be available.

Businesses that take part in these types of events often use flyer printing to outline their products and services.

The Downtown Shop and Sip will be held on Thursday, October 15 from 5 to 8 pm beginning at the corner of Williams and Brink Streets in Crystal Lake. Tickets are $20 per person and are available on the Downtown Crystal Lake website.
