Popular singer coming back to Crystal Lake
A favorite crossover artist is coming back to Crystal Lake.
Grammy-winner Amy Grant will appear at Crystal Lake's Raue Center soon. Grant began her career in the contemporary Christian music genre, in which she became the first artist to have a record go platinum. She was also the first such artist to sing at the Grammys, and the first to have a song go to No. 1 on the pop charts. Since then she has successfully continued her career in popular music.
She began to cross over into popular music in the mid-1980s, and in 1991, released her “Heart in Motion” album. The album went to the top spot on the Billboard Christian list and stayed there for 32 weeks, and went on to sell five million copies nationally. The song “Baby Baby,” which hit No. 1 on the pop charts, came from this album. Grant has sold about 30 million albums total worldwide.
A review of one of Grant's concerts said she “sounded terrific” has the gift of making a performance intimate:
Grant will be at the Raue Center for the Arts on North Williams Street at 8:00 pm on April 17. Brochure printing can be used to create informative programs for this kind of event.

“ . . . at times, it almost felt like Grant had invited you into her living room to tell stories and watch a jam session.”
