National retailer coming to Crystal Lake area
A nationally-known retailer is moving to the Crystal Lake area, and taking over the spaces occupied by the now-closed Toys 'R' Us and Babies 'R' Us.
Floor & Decor is a specialty retailer that provides a variety of hard flooring, including stone, wood, and tile. It also provides the accessories and tools necessary to install and maintain the floors. It will open its new location in the Oakridge Court Shopping Center on Randall Road in Algonquin, a short distance from Crystal Lake, according to the Algonquin Economic Development Department.
In addition to taking over the now vacant Babies 'R' Us and Toys 'R' Us spaces, Floor & Decor also has plans to move into another 80,000 square-foot facility, though the location of that space is not known at this time.
According to the company, Floor & Decor serves both professional contractors and homeowners, offering showroom-quality products at warehouse prices. They have most selections in stock, which allows customers to obtain the materials they need at the time they need them, without a long lead time.
According to officials in Algonquin, Floor & Decor should be open early in 2020. The two stores in the chain currently operating in the area are in Arlington Heights and Gurnee. Promotional products can be given away at events like this, in order to help build brand recognition, and thank the first customers for visiting the store.
