Modern English to play for Crystal Lake audience
The band Modern English will give a performance to a Crystal Lake audience in June as a part of their 40th anniversary world tour. This will take place at the Raue Center for the Arts.
Modern English is, as the name suggests, an English band that formed in Colchester, Essex in 1979. Their music is considered a mix of new wave and post-punk, leading to comparisons with bands such as Simple Minds, Joy Division, and Duran Duran. They are best known for their songs 'Ink and Paper,' 'Hands Across the Sea,' and 'I Melt with You.' The band will no doubt perform these songs, as well as a selection of new material, during the concert.
The Raue Center for the Arts, named for the benefactor who restored the original theater building, is a non-profit organization that seeks to enrich lives through the arts. It also commits to giving a space for all artistic voices, and discovering those that are new and bold. Performers have ranged from independent artists to Tony, Academy, and Grammy Award winners.
The performance will take place on Sunday, June 20 at 26 N Williams Street. Ticket prices will range from $18.90 to $33. The doors will open at 7:30 pm and the show will begin at 8:00 pm.
Venues like the Raue Center of the Arts often use brochure printing services to advertise their venue.
