Local library to offer Harry Potter activities
Next week, the Crystal Lake Public Library will be offering its patrons a slew of different Harry Potter-themed activities.
Children and adults alike will be able to play games and make projects along with their favorite characters from the wizardly set of stories.
Whether or not families are familiar with the series of J. K. Rowling books, or the films on which they are based, they will still likely have fun participating in at least a few of the activities planned, even if the spelling bee and trivia may prove a challenge.
The schedule of events for the week is as follows:
• Sunday: An Introduction From Professor Dumbledore
• Monday: Kids in the Kitchen (Harry Potter Edition)
• Tuesday: Harry Potter Spelling Bee
• Wednesday: Harry Potter Bingo
• Thursday: Harry Potter Trivia (Kids)
• Friday: Potions with Muggle Technology and Green Fire
The Friday event will be an exploration of chemistry and will literally involve creating green fire.
Most classes will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 pm on these days. All the classes will be virtual, but pre-registration is required.
The Harry Potter Book Week begins this Sunday, January 30, and continues until the Friday, February 4. More information can be found on the library site, and libraries also often use poster printing to make a display of their upcoming events and announce them to passers-by.
