What's Happening in Crystal Lake, IL…

Huge sale planned by library

Lovers of books, movies, and music will have a lot to celebrate this spring, when the Crystal Lake Library has its annual sale.

Each spring, the library sells books, both paperbacks and hardcovers, including children's books, coffee table books, nonfiction works, and fiction. It also sells CDs and DVDs, with all proceeds going to support the library and the services it provides. The library is seeking “gently used” donations, but is not accepting magazines, VHS tapes, or sets of encyclopedias.

Residents who wish to donate may do so this Saturday, March 12, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, more they can also make a donation on March 19 and 26, or April 2, 9, and 16. Materials are also collected from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on the Wednesday nights pf March 16, 23, and 30, as well as April 6 and 13. The sale itself is Saturday and Sunday, April 30 and May 1, with a members-only presale on April 29.

The collection is being run by the Friends of the Crystal Lake Library, and materials are not to be given to the library itself, but to the Friends' office in Crystal Lake Plaza, at 6500 Northwest Highway. The Friends might want to work with a flyer printing company on a mailer for residents with details about the collections, and the sale.
