Green-fingered walk on offer
The McHenry County Garden Walk will take place this Saturday, July 14, kicking off at McHenry County College located at 8900 U.S. Highway 14 in Crystal Lake, Illinois. This walk will begin at 9:00 am.
As part of this wonderful garden walk, guests will enjoy an extensive tour of the U or I Extension Master Gardeners of McHenry County Demonstration Garden located on the college grounds. During this exploration, people will be provided with the opportunity to ask questions about the gardens, the plants, and the pests to leading experts in this area.
After touring the college gardens, the tour will spread out through the community, taking in eight private and public garden locations in the northwest portion of McHenry County. At these gardens, one can find stunning visual designs, an assortment of unusual and native plantings, and a wide variety of local garden art. A master gardener will be making the rounds with guests and be available to answer any questions that arise. This garden tour will take approximately one hour of driving time and guests will find many surprises tucked in small corners on the various properties.
McHenry County College is a higher learning facility for the public and offers accredited and non-accredited courses, as well as distance learning through online courses and continuing education.
