Farmers and artisans celebrated at Crystal Lake market
The Downtown Crystal Lake Farmer’s Market is returning for another season of providing farm-fresh fruits and vegetables and other local flavors and products.
The market celebrates Crystal Lake’s sustainability and the bounty of the growing season while providing economic benefits to area farmers and artisans. Vendor participants can increase their sales by hiring a local company to have flyer printing done to feature their wares.
Vendors' products will include honey and syrups, produce, bread and other bakery goodies, fresh flowers, coffee, confections as well as handicrafts such as candles and soaps. While adults are shopping, children can enjoy free craft-making.
Dogs are also welcome at the event. For four-legged friends, dog treats and natural chews will be sold.
The market is presented by the Crystal Lake Downtown organization, a non-profit which is supported by businesses and sponsors such as the Rotary Club. It was founded by local volunteers in 1996 and promotes the market as a vibrant, weekly community gathering place for families and friends.
Produce, homemade specialty foods, and artisan crafts will be displayed for sale at the market, Saturdays beginning June 15. The market will be presented every Saturday through September 28 at Depot Park, 90 E Woodstock Street. It runs each week from 8 am to 1 pm.
