Donation gets college fundraising program underway
Charles and Mary Liebman have a made a large pledge to help kick off the fundraising campaign for a community college in Crystal Lake.
McHenry County College wants to build a science center, which will be located on the school’s campus in Crystal Lake, beside Building E. The center will comprise 31,670 square feet, stand two stories tall, and include a lecture hall, a student resource lab, a cadaver lab, two prep rooms, various science labs, and a planetarium. The building will bear the name the ‘Liebman Science Center’ after the Liebmans, and in recognition of their generosity in getting the campaign started.
The science center will support the science programs already in existence at the college, such as earth science, physics and engineering, chemistry, physiology, anatomy, and biology. The college also offers courses in healthcare and grants degrees in specialties such as basic nursing assistant, occupational therapy assistant, and patient care technician. The center will support students in these programs.
The center's projected cost is $16.8m, which is being financed through a combination of student fees, college funds, fundraising, and donations such as the one offered by the Liebmans. Construction should start in 2017 and continue through that year and the next.
Organizations such as these can benefit by using presentation folders, which allow them to organize and present information neatly and efficiently.
