What's Happening in Crystal Lake, IL…

Crystal Lake to study mushroom growth

A mushroom growth seminar will be held in Crystal Lake this March.

The event is being hosted by the Center for Agrarian Learning and will be instructed by Dr. Garrett Beier alongside Rich Tobiasz. The mushrooms that are edible are said to have multiple benefits; they can be used for cooking, as well as for medical reasons. Also, with the right knowledge, skills, and equipment, they can be grown rather easily. This seminar will provide information that covers mushrooms that can be grown in both a commercial and private environment. This information will include mushroom identification, necessary tools needed for growing them, and more.
The seminar will also have a lab portion that will involve the inoculation of a shitake log. Different items will also be provided to participants for them to take home - these items include coffee grounds and straws. All the necessary equipment to carry out the event's activities will be provided.

Tickets for this class are $35 each. The size of the class is limited to 24 individuals. Tickets can be purchased on the Allevents website.

Brochure printing is a great way for instructors to provide useful information for attendees at events such as this one.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 18, from the hours of 9 am to 12 pm. It will be at the McHenry County College located at 8900 Northwest Hwy, Crystal Lake, Illinois.
