Crystal Lake to offer injury prevention training for runners

A two-day program centering on preventing injuries in runners is scheduled to proceed in Crystal Lake this April.

Two primary registration options are available for both individual runners and professional trainers.

For individual Crystal Lake runners and athletes, admission for the first day of the course costs $349 per person. This registration option includes a year-long, 75% discount for the Pose Method online training videos series, warm-up exercises, cooldown exercises, strength training circuits specifically designed for runners, analyses of running form videos, and a Certificate of Attendance provided by the Romanov Academy of Sports Science. The hosts of educational programs frequently go to print shops to create printed course materials in advance for all participants.

For fitness professionals such as trainers, physical therapists, and coaches, registration for both days of the program is priced at $890 per individual. Professional admission provides participants with the same benefits as the registration for runners and athletes in addition to further education. Extra topics include how to correct improper running techniques, and how to perform smartphone video analysis.

An optional online exam to receive Running Technique Specialist (RTS) certification for a fee of $295.

This professional training course is set to occur at the Smith Physical Therapy and Running Academy from Saturday, April 24 to Sunday, April 25 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on both days.
