Crystal Lake to host 5K
A 5K run/walk for charity is to be held in Crystal Lake this September.
The event is the Jim M'Lady Nissan Run for Lymphoma. It aims to raise funds that can help to make a worthwhile contribution to the research of the illness, and to help raise awareness of the ways it effects people.
In the memory of resident Jim M'Lady, all proceeds for the event will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This organization is the largest non-profit that is dedicated to curing lymphoma, myeloma, leukemia, and other blood cancers. It also offers support services for those who have been diagnosed with cancer. They do so by offering educational opportunities and information that helps with daily adjustment.
The cost for entry to the event will be $35. It also requires registration. The steps to do so are available on the event's website. Patrons may also choose to wait until the day of the race to register. This is available and opens up to an hour before the race begins.
