Crystal Lake McDonalds could get revamp
McDonald's would like to remodel its Crystal Lake location and add a second drive-thru lane, and recently received a recommendation that will help facilitate that process, according to an article in the Northwest Herald.
The Crystal Lake Planning and Zoning Commission recommended that the restaurant be given a special use permit for the work, and with that approval, it should be easier for the company to win approval for its project on July 18, when the City Council meets.
McDonald's planned modifications to the building's exterior would use a color scheme of various shades of white and gray, and would boast a ‘modern architectural design’. The roof line would also be changed to fit the more modern look.
Adding an additional drive-thru will mean nine parking spaces on the building's south side will be eliminated. In addition, to help circulate traffic and keep it moving, the north access lane will become an exit only.
There are three McDonald's in Crystal Lake, one on Route 31 and another on Route 14. This McDonald's, which is on Crystal Point Drive, will be the first of the three to have its exterior remodeled.
Efforts like this can benefit if company officials work with a brochure printing company, which can create illustrated brochures that clearly show the updates, and can be distributed to patrons at the site, and at the other locations.
