Crystal Lake cycling event raises money for local organization
Cycling enthusiasts or novices in Crystal Lake are being invited to get some exercise while raising money for a great cause.
Pedalpalooza will be hitting the streets of Crystal Lake in May. The event is a weekend of cycling and community teamwork to raise money for the Family Health Partnership Clinic.
To participate in the event, individuals must download a scavenger hunt app. Known as Goosechsase, this app guides cyclists through the area. Participants use clues from the app to try and find hidden gems throughout the town. Local businesses have partnered with the Partnership Clinic to make this event possible, and may choose to create promotional products to give away at an event like this.
Anyone can participate in this event. Although experienced cyclists are welcome to join, novices and families are also welcome. Interested parties can register online at the Pedalpalooza website.
During Pedalpalooza, cyclists do more than just ride a bike. They can eat, drink, and shop all around the county. All participants will receive a shirt, map, and a wristband that gives them access to special deals from local businesses.
There is no event finish line. Rather, participants simply try to stop in as many local businesses as they can or travel from one town to the next. This year's event happens on May 18th and 19th.
