National Gift Cards, a company based in Crystal Lake, is about to go international.
The company has purchased a majority share in Revive Prepaid Management, which is based in the UK. The acquisition is part of National's plan to expand to a global operation.
National Gift Card Corporation was started 10 years ago in Crystal Lake, in a small office near McHenry Avenue. The company expanded and moved to Elgin, but returned to Crystal Lake earlier in 2014. It is now housed in a 52,000 square foot facility on Millennium Drive, a space that is more than three times larger than the Elgin site.
National Gift is the exclusive seller of gift cards from over 200 national brands. They sell the cards to organizations that use them as incentives and rewards for employees. Over the last ten years, National Gift Card has processed over 41 million cards, with a value of over $850m.
Revive Prepaid Management is in Bracknell, approximately 30 miles from London. The division National just acquired will supply digital and traditional gift cards in bulk for approximately eight brands in Europe and the UK, including Amazon.co.uk.
National's management might consider working with brochure printers to create a booklet explaining their operation. The company could then distribute them to other potential customers in the UK to describe its ventures.
