Creepy event awaits in Crystal Lake
People who like getting the chills have an event for them in Crystal Lake.
The Crystal Lake Park District is hosting the upcoming “Friday the 13th” Fest, a fright-fest for adults to gather and celebrate Jason and the slasher movies popular in the 1980s. The district promises a lot of gory fun.
The event is divided into two parts. From 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm everyone is invited to hang out at the Main Beach on Lakeshore Drive, where games will be available, along with live music, courtesy of Acoustical Explosion, a local group.
The planned games include board games, hatchet throwing, archery, human foosball, and life-size games. After playing, attendees might like to visit the beer garden, where they will find “Camp Crystal Lake,” a special beer created by Crystal Lake Brewing. They can also enjoy something to eat at the food trucks that will be on site, including Brothers’ BBQ, Toasty Cheese, Fork ‘N Fry Poutine, Your Sister’s Tomato, and Julie Ann’s Custard. Flyer printing can be used to create a list of vendors at events like this.
Starting at dusk and running until 10:00 pm, “Friday the 13th” will play on a large screen, giving everyone the chance to reminisce about the 1980 movie that had a huge influence on the horror genre.
The festival is set for August 13 and will take place no matter the weather. The beach will be closed for the entire day and boats are not allowed.
