Celebrated vocalist to play Crystal Lake

A popular Chicagoland singer will appear in Crystal Lake.

Kevin Pollack is known throughout Chicago for his singing and acting, especially when he takes on the role of Jake as part of The Blooze Brothers, a tribute act for The Blues Brothers. In 2018, Pollack starting writing and performing music he wrote, beginning with “Something Good (Is Coming Down),” which he wrote for his bride when they were married. The song was well received and inspired him to write and release additional material, which he kicked off with the music video “Man About Town” in 2019.

Pollack notes that he has been strongly influenced by the soul, rock, and pop groups poplar in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. With that background, he is developing a genre he calls NuTown, short for New Motown, which blends the old songs he loves with new material. His vocal style encompasses everything from Motown to Broadway to Michael Jackson and more.

Pollack’s posse includes Howard Pfeifer, the group’s musical director and pianist; bassist Rick Demski; drummer Danya Thompson; and Andy Blanco on sax. Poster printing can be used to create colorful advertising for events like this.

Chris Jones, the theater critic for the Chicago Tribune, said Pollack has:

“more gravel in his voice than I have in my backyard. . .”

His appearance at the RAUE Center is set for May 15 at 7:00 pm.
