Nampa to offer outdoor fitness classes
FitLot will be hosting an outdoor fitness series sponsored by the AARP in Nampa at Lakeview Park.
The FitLot Multi-Week SERIES is a program that invites people to start new fitness routines under the guidance of a fitness professional. Attendees are advised to wear comfortable clothes and suitable shoes to the event. People can also bring hand sanitizer, towels, and water to the program. Those who participate in the series are asked to complete a FitLot Method Introduction Class in advance to acquaint themselves with the park's equipment and FitLot's training methods.
FitLot is an organization that aims to provide communities with free access to the exercise equipment found in indoor fitness facilities. The group aims to have a FitLot fitness park installed in every state. The organization is part of Propeller's Social Innovation Incubator Program and was launched in 2013. Each fitness park created by FitLot includes resistance bands and moveable elements such as ellipticals. The parks also use recycled tire rubber on their surfaces and have a shade structure.
The fitness series will continue until Wednesday, October 11. The organization hosts one or two classes per month with varying dates and start times. The program's current schedule can be found on FitLot's Eventbrite page. Physical activities similar to FitLot's monthly series can be promoted to locals by using printing services to make easily distributable ads.
