Artists, hobbyists, and craft enthusiasts will gather in Nampa this September for the Idaho Gourd Festival.
During this event attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a full schedule of live entertainment and interactive presentations at the Spotlight Stage.
Friday's lineup begins at 10 am with Scrubbing Momma demonstrating effective techniques for preparing gourds for crafting. At 11 am, Alan Sweeney will host a gourd-themed trivia competition. At 1 pm a Gourd Crafting Challenge will test participants' creativity as artists transform raw gourds into original works. The day's entertainment will conclude at 4:30 pm with a performance by guitar students from Ridgeview High School.
Saturday's Spotlight Stage schedule will feature Resito Belovich at 10 am, followed by the Idaho Gourd Society Gourd Parade at noon. The Sangha Taiko Japanese Drum Group performs at 1 pm, and Ridgeview High School Orchestra students will close the afternoon with a performance beginning at 2:30 pm. Entertainment activities will continue on Sunday and will end at 11 am.
Competition registration allows Idaho Gourd Society members who pre-register to submit up to three entries at no cost. After September 12th, member competition entries are $3 each.
Event organizers often use flyer printing to showcase class schedules, recognize vendors, and encourage community participation.
The Idaho Gourd Festival will take place September 18th, through Sunday, September 20th, at the Franz Witte Garden Center, 20005 11th Avenue North, Nampa, Idaho. Festival activities will start and end at varying times.
