Nampa to give karate classes to kids

Empty Hand Combat in Nampa will hold a summer camp series throughout the summer for children.

The Warrior Kids Summer Camp is a multi-week program where children can learn karate and dance skills from professional instructors in a bully-free environment. The campers will also learn about focus, discipline, and respect. The program includes field trips, team-building activities, and outdoor games. Each camp session will last for five days, and there are 11 camps in the series. All participants will receive a camp shirt and white belt.

Empty Hand Combat is an organization that teaches martial arts and kickboxing to people of all ages. The founder and lead instructor of the school is Cosmo Zimik, a 7th-degree black belt in tae kwon do. He has been studying Burmese Thaing Kung Fu since he was a child and trained as a black belt when he was nine. Zimik is also the Chitah JKD Global Federation’s technical director. The martial arts school opened in 2009.

The summer camp will be held from May 28th to August 9th. People can pay $199 for each weekly camp when they book two or more sessions with Empty Hand Combat. The camp days will last from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, though the venue does offer free early drop-offs and late pick-ups. Schools that hold similar summer events to this often use brochure printing to share information about their camps with families.
