Nampa to enjoy Adventures in Parrotdise
A tribute to Jimmy Buffett’s music and legacy will take place at a local venue this April, and will feature Barrie Cunningham and The Rocking Horse Medicine Show.
This performance, titled Adventures in Parrotdise, is said to offer a nostalgic musical journey that celebrates Buffett’s most iconic songs and island-inspired sound.
Cunningham, a seasoned performer of Buffett’s catalog, will bring a setlist that includes fan favorites such as "Margaritaville," "Come Monday," and "Cheeseburger in Paradise." The show will also feature songs Buffett covered, including Van Morrison’s "Brown Eyed Girl" and Crosby, Stills & Nash’s "Southern Cross."
His duets, such as " It's Five O'Clock Somewhere " alongside Alan Jackson and "Trip Around the Sun" with Martina McBride will also be performed.
Special guests from Buffett’s original Coral Reefer Band have been known to join the tribute show, including guitarist Roger Bartlett, along with Greg "Fingers" Taylor, Amy Lee, TC Mitchell, and Doyle Grisham. Their participation may add an authentic touch to the performance.
Poster printing may be used by organizers to get the word out about tribute events such as this one.
The performance will occur at the Nampa Civic Center, 311 3rd St S., Nampa, Idaho on Sunday, April 13, starting at 7:30 pm. The venue is ADA-compliant with wheelchair-accessible seating available by phone reservation. Sensory-inclusive accommodations are also provided.
Tickets range from $32 to $50. For more details and to make reservations, attendees can visit the event’s online listing.
