Nampa rally to raise awareness for veteran mental health

A non-profit organization will host a rally for veterans in April at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa.

The Veteran Suicide Awareness Event and Rally 2023 is a program where people can show their support for veterans by riding motorcycles or attending the activity at the Ford Idaho Center. The family-friendly experience will include entertainment from the Funhouse Band of Boise. The food sold at the event venue will be provided by Kanak Katering, Woodstock Pizza Boise, and The Rusty Dog Idaho. The rally is intended to serve as a living memorial to those who have passed.

The host for the event is Ride for 22, a non-profit organization that wants to spread awareness of post-traumatic stress (PTS) and educate the public about the condition. The group participates in other riding events and health expos to help increase awareness for PTS. The three co-founders of the organization are Steve Exceen, Debbie Knehr, and Doug Knehr. The non-profit is also partners with groups such as Project Roll Call and Flags of Honor Escorts.

The awareness event will be held on Saturday, April 15 from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Those interested in registering for the riding portion of the rally can pay $15. People who want to support Ride for 22’s efforts can sponsor the non-profit or donate money online. Non-profits that coordinate awareness events like this may use corporate gifts to thank companies that give major donations.
