Nampa cultural experience to benefit community organization

Tlecoatl Danza Azteca will host a festival in Nampa to help raise money for the Breaking Chains Academy.

The Fiesta de Los Muertos is an annual community program where all ages can enjoy cultural experiences while benefiting at-risk youths. Attendees can listen to guest speakers and watch live performances from local artists. There will also be vendors to browse through and art displays set up during the festival. People may join workshops and have dinner at the venue. Those who pay for general admission or VIP access to the fest will receive complimentary swag bags.

The Breaking Chains Academy is a community organization that aims to prevent youths from participating in gang-related activities by offering support programs. The group uses mentorships and educational experiences to guide at-risk children and teens toward better lives. The group also offers job skills training. The executive director of the academy is Luis Granados, a graduate of the Breaking Chains Academy who returned to the organization as a mentor.

The community fest will be held on Saturday, November 9 from 10:00 am to midnight. The festival will take place at the Idaho Hispanic Community Center. General admission to the event is $25 per person, and VIP passes cost $50. The event will donate 30% of the proceeds to the Breaking Chains Academy. Those who host similar cultural programs may use poster printing to share their activities.
