The Hailey area is rich with lakes and rivers filled with fish, and a camp-style program is accepting registrations from kids who are interested in getting into angling.
The Reel Kids program will be focused on teaching basic fishing skills, and there are two sessions open for registration, with both of them running for three days. The goal is for young people to be well rounded in both angling and conservation.
The first day will take place at the Silver Creek Preserve Visitors Center, while the other two are scheduled for Lions Park in Hailey. The agenda for the camps covers topics ranging from fly-tying to the care and maintenance of fishing equipment, and there will be an introduction to fish anatomy and identification, as well as an insect ID activity. Everyone will get in plenty of fishing time, and an awards ceremony will wrap up the schedule.
To help the campers get started, each will receive a kit of equipment, including a rod and reel and other gear. A Print shop can prepare a variety of custom Promotional Products for an activity.
Registration for the Reel Kids camp opens on March 15 at 9:00 am, and the camps are set to start on June 17 and June 24, with both running from Wednesday to Friday. The registration process can be completed by visiting the organizer's website.
