Nivrana is a tribute to Nirvana, the band that practically defined the genre “grunge,” and remains one of the most influential bands of all time. Nirvana formed in 1987 in Aberdeen, Washington, and went on to sell over 75 million albums worldwide, and win two NME Awards, seven MTV Video Music Awards, a Grammy Award, a Brit Award, and an American Music Award.
Nivrana recreates a Nirvana concert down to the last detail. The band they impersonate is the original lineup: Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Dave Grohl. Nivrana has been celebrated as the most accurate tribute band because they are fans who created the group, and perform, for fans. At the upcoming concert, Nivrana plans to play the complete “Unplugged in New York” album. For their second set, they will repeat the concert Nirvana gave in October 1993, at Davenport’s Palmer Auditorium.
