For the seventh year in a row, registration for Little League softball and baseball will be held at Modern Woodmen Park.
The centralization of the registration event brings all the Little Leagues in Davenport to one place, regardless of playing level or age, potentially making it easier for organizers to streamline the registration process.
All Davenport's leagues, which include the Challenger, Pony, and Colt leagues, will register on the same day. All children are required to register, even if they have played previously. In addition, one legal guardian or parent must attend, and bring the child's birth certificate and proof of residence. A medical release and complete registration form is needed, with fees to be paid at registration.
Modern Woodmen Park is the home of the Quad Cities River Bandits. The team is offering a special deal for children under 14 who attend the registration event, with Kids Club memberships for $25, which is $5 less than the regular price. The memberships include perks such as free bleacher tickets for all the Bandits' home games; and a 10% discount on merchandise from the team store.
The registration event takes place 8:30 am to 12:30 pm this Saturday, February 21, at Modern Woodmen Park. League officials could work with a banner printing company to create a piece to add to the fun of the day.
