Legendary rocker to play Davenport

Tickets are likely to sell out quickly for an upcoming concert with a rock and roll legend.

Alice Cooper will be at the Adler Theatre soon to rock Davenport with a style all of his own. Cooper, who was born Vincent Damon Furnier in Detroit, has been in the music business for over 50 years. In 1969 in Phoenix, he was in a band called Alice Cooper; when they split up, he kept the name and started a solo career. He drew from garage rock, vaudeville, and horror films in equal measure to create his own type of hard rock, deliberately designed to shock audiences.

He also experimented with various styles of music, including glam metal, hard rock, heavy metal, and industrial rock. Cooper is credited with bringing horror images into rock, and thereby transforming the genre. Cooper has also worked as an actor, a radio DJ, a golfer, and a restaurateur.

A review of a recent concert reveals that a Cooper concert is:

“. . . still a great night out.”

The review goes on to describe some of the happenings on stage, including Cooper being put in a straitjacket to stop him committing gruesome acts.

Cooper will be in Davenport at the Adler Theatre on April 8, at 8:00 pm. Poster printing can be used to create colorful advertising for events like this.
