The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) is taking place this summer, and will once again include the Quad Cities.
This is RAGBRAI’s route across the state that lats for one week. Sioux City will be the start of the ride, which will pass through Ames, Des Moines, Tama-Toledo, and Coralville, with the route ending in Davenport.
Poster printing can be used to inform interested riders from across the state and elsewhere of such unique events.
CEO and president of Visit Quad Cities, Dave Herrell, said that this is one of the most unique events in the world and he expressed his delight that the area will be part of it. He added that this is the longest, largest, and oldest bike ride in the world. The first one to end in the Quad Cities was back in 1973 and only 114 bikers traversed the entire state that year.
This is the sixth time that Davenport marks the end of the ride. Herrell said that the Quad Cities is proud to be the area that started this tradition, and now Davenport will be able to welcome riders, congratulate them, and celebrate with them on the 50th anniversary of the ride.
The ride will start on Saturday, July 22 and end in Davenport on Saturday, July 29.
