Volunteer promo drive coming to Sandy Springs

The annual drive for volunteering in Sandy Springs is now less than a month away, with hundreds of volunteers expected to turn out once again for Volunteer for a Better Sandy Springs Day (VBSS Day).

With poster printing no doubt taking place to get VBSS 2015 as well marketed as possible, it is being led this year by sponsors Leadership Sandy Springs (LSS).

Many of the city's not-for-profit organizations are set to benefit. In previous years, droves of volunteers have given up their time to help the day run smoothly. In real time financials, it makes for a value of well over $400,000, with the community benefiting directly from everyone's efforts.

According to LSS, the day is now an essential service for Sandy Springs.

The day will get underway at North Springs Charter High School, with a hot and fuelling breakfast being served up to everyone that has registered to volunteer for the event.

Once well fuelled, and with the first 500 volunteers resplendent in VBSS Day T-Shirts, the participants will head off to over 20 sites to get working.

They will take part in a whole variety of events, including landscaping, carpentry, painting, decorating, and general maintenance work.

Anyone wanting to take part can apply online or contact LSS directly. It takes place on Saturday, April 25 and runs from 8:00 am through 1:00 pm.
