Sandy Springs class introduces art of paper quilling

The art of paper quilling can be used to produce a variety of items, and a Sandy Springs class will teach the fundamentals to those who take part.

Joanna Shirley will be sharing her love of paper quilling when she serves as the facilitator for a session that will craft quilled paper flowers. It's been scheduled for the Abernathy Arts Center, and it will begin in mid-morning.

The session will see Joanna share her knowledge and skills with a group of newbie paper quillers, and the techniques learned can be used to prepare a variety of designs. It will be focused on florals and leaves, and everyone will craft their own unique, three dimensional gift tags and cards to take home. The run time for the activity is three hours, and Boxes filled with supplies can be purchased for $20.00 each. A list of items has been prepared for those who would rather buy their own.

Crafting with friends old and new can be an enjoyable experience. A flyer printing company can compile community guides that let local residents know about activities that will be taking place in their own home area.

This introduction to the art of paper quilling will run from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on February 7th. At the time this was written, seats in the workshop were still available.
