Sandy Springs is a community that wants to make everyone feel valued, and an upcoming inclusive event may help make that happen.
The city’s Fall Fun for All event will welcome everybody at Morgan Falls Overlook Park and Green Space. Beginning in the late afternoon, it will offer an assortment of opportunities to enjoy adaptive recreation and other activities, and to help the organizers make their plans, advance reservations are required.
Open to all ages, the gathering will be able to accommodate up to 100 participants, and both physical and developmental disabilities can be accommodated. There will be midway-style games along with prizes, and snacks and other light refreshments will be served. There will be one or two surprises in the works as well.
When preparing for an event that will welcome guests with a variety of special needs, organizers may find themselves ordering an assortment of custom prepared materials. These can range from printed safety information for those who are hearing impaired, to braille materials, to signage that designates sensory-friendly areas. A printing services company will be able to help.
Sandy Springs Recreation and Parks will run this evening of fall fun for its disabled community members on Wednesday, September 16. It will open at 4:30 pm and run until 7:00 pm, and a link to sign up is included in its web listing.
