Surveyor teaches realtors new skills

Learning how to read surveys is an important skill for marketers, and RE/MAX Around Atlanta is teaching realtors how to do this properly.

When a house is being sold, it is being sold along with the land that it lies on and potential buyers respond well to realtors who know all about the property. This course teaches new realtors how to operate at a more professional level by knowing some of the important and often overlooked details about a property. Surveys can be printed out by visiting Print shops in the area.

Some of the matters realtors will be taught to take into consideration include:

- state water buffers, which will tell clients about the risk of flooding in a particular area. This could have a big impact on the property’s resale value
- identifying whether the building is located too close to a setback line that would limit the building’s potential expansion
- identifying where sewerage and utility lines lie so that they know where to avoid digging
- whether an easement runs through the backyard, providing a great place to put a pool

All of this information can be found by looking up site surveys for the property.

Jeff McClung from McClung Surveying will be teaching realtors how to use surveys on October 27 at RE/MAX Around Atlanta in Sandy Springs.
