A new restaurant will soon bring a slice of the action Sandy Springs.
MOD Pizza is coming to The Plaza at City Springs South, a recently-opened shopping center between Cliftwood Drive and I-285 on Roswell Road. To celebrate its new location, MOD is giving a free salad or pizza to its first 52 customers. There will also be other giveaways, according to an article in the Sandy Springs Patch.
Ally and Scott Svenson started MOD Pizza in Seattle in 2008. They describe their concept as a “pioneer of the fast casual pizza market,” since the restaurant sells artisan-type pizzas that are made on demand. Since the pizzas are not started until customers place their orders, they are able to create their own pies. MOD's signature sauces, more than 30 toppings, and fresh-pressed dough go into the pizzas, which are available for just one price.
MOD said that the company's philosophy is that the restaurant is “committed to being a force for good” in the communities it serves, both in the United States and in other countries. It seeks to offer a hip place for diners to enjoy and inspiring surroundings in which they can work. There are other MOD restaurants in Dawsonville, Kennesaw, and Decatur.
