OpenTable, the online restaurant reservation website, releases ‘Best of’ lists, and recently published its 2018 list of the “100 Best Brunch Restaurants in America.” There is only one restaurant in Georgia on the list: Ray’s on the River, located in Sandy Springs.
Ray’s really is on the river; seeing as it is located on the bank of the Chattahoochee. Its brunch menu includes more than 50 items, some served at special carving or serving stations. Among the goodies available every Sunday are such sweet treats as red velvet waffles, buttermilk pancakes, French toast, assorted fresh fruits, and Belgian waffles, served from a station where patrons can choose their toppings. Savory choices include favorites like biscuits and gravy, peel-and-eat shrimp served ice cold, salmon pate, assorted cheeses, and prime rib.
OpenTable’s list had California in the top spot, with 19 restaurants; New York came in second with 15; Pennsylvania tied with Washington, D.C., with nine each; and Illinois came in fourth, with eight restaurants. In order to compile its list of winners, OpenTable examined over 12 million online reviews submitted to its website. Sandy Springs and Georgia can be proud, since some states had no restaurants on the list at all.
Businesses like this might capitalize on such an award by working with a flyer printing company to create a mailer targeting the local area, specifically mentioning the honor.
