Sandy Springs getting ready to honor veterans

The City of Sandy Springs is planning two events to honor veterans.

A musical evening will start the veterans' celebrations this year, as The Beverly Belles present their salute to the military. The Belles are inspired by the Andrews Sisters, and perform in their style, presenting engaging, upbeat, patriotic music suitable for audiences of all ages. The Belles appear in and around Los Angeles, Los Vegas, and Denver, and the casts of the shows vary in size and accompaniment. Lydia Myers, an Atlanta native; and April Nelson, a Miss America Talent Winner and Miss Louisiana 2016, will appear in the Sandy Springs production. Heath Hynche, a leading comedian from Birmingham, Alabama, will play the part of the Belles' hapless “manager.”

The Belles will be joined by local swing dancers, and plan on a concert featuring music from the 1930s through the 1960s, as well as current Top 40 hits, performed retro-style.

Official Veterans' Day activities feature U.S. District Court Judge J.P. Boulee as the keynote speaker. Boulee was instrumental in creating a program that placed veterans who committed a felony found to be service related in a two-year program supervised by Boulee.

The Belles will appear November 9, at the Byers Theatre, beginning at 6.00 pm. The city's official Veterans' Day events are set for the Green at City Springs, beginning at 11.30 am on November 11. Banner printing can provide great decorations for this type of event.
