Sandy Springs festivities to kick off this evening

Sandy Springs is getting ready for the holidays with an event it calls ‘Sparkle Sandy Springs’, which will last the entire month of December.

This is the second year for the Sparkle, which features light displays and decorated miniature houses, along with live music, a visit from the polar bear that loves Coca-Cola, and a tree lighting, as well as a menorah lighting.

The miniature houses that are part of the celebration are not really that small (measuring six feet tall) and made of wood. Local nonprofit organizations, schools, and businesses will paint them.

Rusty Paul, the mayor of Sandy Springs, invites everyone to come to the City Green to celebrate the holiday season at City Springs for the first time. City Springs is a mixed-use development that blends residences, retail spaces, green space, a center for the performing arts, and civic facilities into a project that is revitalizing Sandy Springs' downtown.

Among those taking part in the fun this year are Battle & Brew, CalyRoad Creamery, the North Springs High School, Sips n Strokes, La Dee Da Creative & Art Studio, the Pontoon Brewing Company, and Heritage Sandy Springs. Organizers of events like this can use poster printing to create Signs to help attendees find specific vendors.

Sparkle Sandy Springs begins tonight, December 1, at 6:00 pm, with the School of Rock Atlanta on hand to provide live music.
