For the 33rd year, residents of Sandy Springs will enjoy two days of family-friendly activities at the Sandy Springs Festival, an event held to benefit Heritage Sandy Springs. The festival is free to residents.
The festival is packed with things for people of all ages to enjoy. There are 5K and 10K races, the Sandy Springs Lightning, taking place on Saturday to start the festivities.
Other activities include the Artist Market, which gives more than 50 artists a chance to display and sell their works. Main Stage will host professional bands all day Saturday, and there’s a Battle of the Bands Sunday.
The Cultural Corner features ethnic performers, cuisine, and art; and a Pet Parade, with animals (and no doubt some owners) in costume is set for Saturday morning. There is an entry fee of $10.
The Heritage Sandy Springs Museum will be open, and the city’s first responders will have vehicles on display. There’s also a food court, and many other activities. Police are suggesting visitors park in outlying lots and ride shuttles. Organizers of events like this can use banner printing to create decorations.
The festival this year is slated for this weekend, September 22 and 23, at Heritage Green. Saturday’s hours are 9 am to 6 pm, while Sunday the fun goes from 10 am to 5 pm. A concert is set for 7 pm Saturday, after the festival closes for the day. Complete details are available on the festival’s website.
