The City Green Live concerts are starting their second year, and will begin with Drivin N Cryin, along with three cover bands. Rusty Paul, the mayor of Sandy Springs, reflected on the success of the first year, describing the concerts as:
“a musical field of dreams . . . We built it, and the community came with more than 14,000 people enjoying the sounds of summer at City Springs.”
He added that he expects the upcoming series to be just as successful, as it has a wide variety of bands that everyone is sure to enjoy.
Drivin N Cryin, now 35 years old and based in Atlanta, is a folk-rock band that recently released “Live the Love Beautiful,” their ninth studio album. The Bitterroots will open for them.
The other bands on the schedule are A.J. Ghent & Aztec Sun, Cha Wa, Old Salt Union, Uptown Funk Maggie Rose, Interstellar Echoes (a Pink Floyd tribute band), Randall Bramblett, Tribute – A Celebration of the Allman Brothers, and Yankton.
The concerts are free, begin April 24 and running through July 31. The gates open at 6:30 pm, and the music starts at 7:30 pm. Tables can be reserved, but people are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Flyer printing can be used to create programs for events like this.
