Atlanta will hold a “Stadium Fun Run” for cancer research next month. Runners will traverse Truist Park, the stadium at which the Atlanta Braves play.
The event is designed for fans of the Braves, but anyone is welcome to join, including residents from Sandy Springs. Each participant will run or walk a 3K course around the arena. Organizers will also prepare a short dash for children seven and under. After the run, participants can join a staggered party with vendors and games.
Before the race date, all runners can download and Print a custom bib, which will be available after registration. After the race, each participant will receive a T-shirt, which typically features a unique graphic design to commemorate the run. Organizers will also be giving out discounted tickets to the Braves game against the San Francisco Giants.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the SagerStrong Foundation and its efforts to support blood cancer research. The foundation was founded in 2016 in memory of the late baseball presenter Craig Sager.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 22nd at 8:00 AM. Entry to the 3K run is $35 and $49 for anyone who wants a Braves ticket. Registration for the short dash is $10. Participants can find Truist Park at 755 Battery Avenue Southeast, and participants can sign up online.
