Commercial real estate firm Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Global Healthcare Services (NGKF), a global corporation that helps clients acquire, finance, develop, and monetize health care facilities, revealed recently that it has been named the exclusive leasing agent for a new project coming to Sandy Springs.
The development, NorthPlace Medical, will be located in the Central Perimeter area of the city, and should be completed early in 2019. The developers on the project are MidCity Real Estate Partners and Childress Klein.
The location of the project is the northeast corner of Mt. Vernon Highway and Barfield Road, which was chosen because it offers the flexibility the medical community needs. As the project progresses, it's likely that commercial space will be available for retailers that fit well with medical offices.
Barfield Road is part of a so-called ‘medical corridor’ where healthcare providers locate their offices. They remain close to hospitals and doctors' offices, but the area is easy to get to and highly visible.
The facility plans call for improving access for outpatients by providing areas where people can drop patients off. There is also a variety of on-site parking planned, including surface parking, an underground facility, and covered ground-level spaces.
