Drax Biomass, Inc. has announced it is setting up a new U.S. head office here, representing a multi-million investment. The firm, which is an American-owned subsidiary of the U.K. Firm Drax Group, has signed a $1m lease deal for the Concourse Building on Concourse Parkway NE.
Spread across 10,000 square-foot, the firm intends to create 50 new positions at the site. Recruitment will be undertaken in association with local authorities and resources, as well as help from the state, to ensure the best talent is hired. The firm works in the biomass industry, developing and creating wood pellets using sustainable sources.
The chairman of Drax Biomass, Matthew Rivers, said:
“After full consideration of our business requirements ... we have chosen to establish our new headquarters in Sandy Springs.
“We look forward to cultivating strong working relationships with community citizens and civic organizations alike as we build our presence in the area.”
