Movies by Moonlight began last Sunday, July 17, and the first movie to be screened was ‘Grease.’ The next movie night is scheduled for Friday, August 12 when ‘Jungle Cruise’ will be on the screen. The final movie to be screened will be ‘Encanto’ on August 26th.
Rosalyn Putnam is the new executive director for Leadership Sandy Springs. In a press release, she said:
“I know Leadership Sandy Springs loves connecting our community through this free, family-friendly film series. From what I understand, what began with the Leadership Class of 2004, has become an integral part of the summer programming at City Springs.”
The movies will be shown at City Springs on the lawn using an inflatable screen measuring 30 feet wide. Movie concessions and food trucks will start serving at 6:00 pm. Music and lawn games will start at 6:30 pm.
The event is set up to provide support to local groups. At the July 17 screening, the Sandy Springs Education Force was picking up school supplies such as promotional Pens for its teacher closet. At the August 12 screening, food pantry items will be collected by the Community Assistance Center. Solidarity Sandy Springs will take items for its food pantry at the final screening on August 26.
